Michael Langer – Biography
Michael Langer is a successful musician and has been playing concerts in Europe, China and the USA for over 40 years. As an author, he has already sold more than 500,000 music books.
Michael Langer began as an ambitious rock and pop guitarist. With classical music, another genre soon conquered his heart and led him to study classical guitar at the Conservatory and the University of Music in Vienna. Both musical worlds occupy him every day in his life to this day. Sometimes they complement each other perfectly, sometimes they lure him in very different directions.
Michael Langer was a university professor of classical guitar in Vienna and Linz for many years. Many of his students have won national and international classical and fingerstyle competitions.
His most significant competition successes were first prizes at the “American Fingerstyle Guitar Festival” and at the “Ultimate Guitar Competition” of the “Guitar Player Magazine”. There he was awarded “Best Acoustic Fingerstyle Guitarist”.
“Through my love of music and guitar, I have met wonderful people, have played in many distant countries at the same festivals as my childhood idols Paco de Lucia, Tommy Emmanuel, David Russell, Duo Assad… and am living my dream as a musician, composer, teacher and author.”
